Niykee is a songwriter that, in spite of her whirlwind career has maintained an ongoing routine. Her personal highlights have included her being picked by Snoop dogg to be his private assistant at the YouTube Brandcast event in May 2013. At present, she is a magnet to aspiring artists, she is constantly looking over beats she receives and realizes that most result in sparking ideas for songs. Within five seconds, I know what a song is or not. After that, I have an idea of a song and begin writing it immediately. I go out to my back porch with my guitar, and then the lyrics just come and usually it's all done in under 30 minutes. Niykee says that as she grows as a lyricist her painful memories from her childhood are an source of inspiration. It's tough to forget memories that are painful from my childhood, and especially losing my younger sister. These memories are incorporated in her music. This shapes my music and provides it with a deeper sense of meaning that I believe is very important. I would like to be able to listen to my music 20 years from now and feel proud of the things I've written.
