Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco is an American Canadian singer and songwriter. She has produced many studio records. DiFranco classifies her music as folk-rock or alternative. But it includes influences like hip-hop, punk and jazz. Ani Difranco is recognized as an icon of feminist music. In 1990 she was one of the first to establish her own record label. DiFranco was the child of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father is of Italian heritage and her mother was a Montreal native. Ani diFranco composed and sang the track 32 Flavors. This song appears on her album Not a Pretty Girl released in 1995.
