Dua Lipa (born in London) is an English singer and songwriter who was born on August 22 1995 in London United Kingdom. Her debut self-titled album debuted in 2017 after she had signed with Warner Bros Records. The album peaked at number three on the U.K. Albums Chart and released eight singles, including Be the One I.D.G.A.F and the U.K. top-ranked track New Rules which peaked at 6th within the United States. Lipa has won Brit Awards 2018 for the categories of British Female Artist and British Breakthrough Act. Furthermore, the platinum-certified album is a coveted honor across multiple countries. Dua Lipa was the daughter of Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa A Rexha Lipa and Dukagjin Dukagjin in London she was born on 22 August 1995. Through her maternal grandparents Dua Lipa, she is Bosnian. It is also possible to trace her ancestral roots in Peja in Kosovo. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Her siblings are Rina and Gjin. Her father, a guitarist and lead singer of Kosovan band Oda was a major influence on her music. Her father played music at home, including songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa started singing at age five. At the age of nineteen she was singing in Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed If I Ain't Goin' to You by Alicia Keys, and Beautiful Christina Aguilera. Lipa signed with Warner Bros. Records a contract in 2014. Her debut song New Love was released on August 15th, 2015.
